Beating Retreat

The Golden Tours Foundation is supporting The Beating Retreat Concert which raises funds for the Household Division Charities in support of serving and retired guardsmen of the Division and their families.

The Household division Charities rely on the generosity of donors to provide welfare enhancements to the wounded, veterans and bereaved which fall outside the public budget.

The concert featured the Massed Bands of the Foot Guards and the Mounted Bands of the Household Cavalry supported by the Pipes & Drums of the Scots Guards, the Royal Choral Society, the Concert Band of the German Army, the Household Cavalry Musical Ride and elements of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery.

This year, as is the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, was the main theme for the performance featuring period re-enactors, fireworks and gun fire.

Major General Edward Smyth-Osbourne CBE, Major General Commanding The Household Division thanked Nitin Palan, Chairman of the Golden Tours Foundation for their ongoing support for the great event.

Nick Palan said he was humbled by the event and only too happy to help those in need, especially those who risk their lives for their country.
